This is the most incompetent and dishonest repair shop I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. My car was brought into International Sport Motors due to not starting and having multiple electrical fault codes. After being assured the car was completely fixed and thoroughly tested, I was given back the car running, idling unevenly. I drove 10 miles and check engine light and fault codes reappeared. After driving home and parking, of course it did not start again. I am still fighting for a refund.
Eric, We’re sorry to hear you are still having difficulty with your Mercedes. As we offered on the phone, we are more than happy to diagnose the problem and fix the car at no additional charge to you. We stand behind our work and believe both you and our shop were at somewhat of a disadvantage by the situation. The Mercedes-Benz was brought into the shop by our third party customer--the Getaround service you use to rent out your vehicle. Just to give our side of the story, the car was brought to our shop after another shop and the Mercedes-Benz dealership were unable to fix the starting problem. We replaced the dead battery, performed a full diagnostic check, replaced the faulty main relays and got the car started. We then reprogrammed the vehicle’s electrical system, cleared all the fault codes and then took the vehicle for a long test drive where the car performed well. If the car is still having starting difficulties the issue is likely being caused by a conflict between your Mercedes’ computer and the device Getaround uses to disable your vehicle to facilitate your app-based car rental arrangements. We understand there was some confusion between the car rental service (Getaround), our shop and you, the vehicle’s owner, and we’ve done everything in our power to make up for this miscommunication. Now that your money has been refunded we hope you can find someone to fix the vehicle’s starting issues. If you can’t and would like our help with the repairs, we are more than happy to fix the car and will stand behind our work as we do with all of our customers. If you’re more comfortable working with another shop, our credit card company has processed your refund and you’re free to take the vehicle to any shop you see fit.
